Shopping for Ski Real Estate in Park City
Park City is home to many great neighborhoods with much diversity depending on proximity to ski areas, golf courses, and there are many gated exclusive communities and clubs. From ski-in ski-out condos to mountain modern luxury homes with sprawling views of the Wasatch Mountains, there is a dream home here for everyone. Canyons Village, Park City Resort, and Deer Valley each have their own feeling and vibe for the base areas. All resorts have world-class skiing and I will go into them more on their specific pages.

Park City has many great areas surrounding the town and you may find added benefits from having a short drive to skiing or golf. Sometimes living a little further away makes for a nicer view, lower cost per square foot, and easier accessibility during the high seasons.
Some great areas are Kimball junction, Summit Park, Trailside, Jeremy Ranch, Silver Springs, Bear Hollow, Thaynes, Aeire, Silver Summit, Silver Creek, Midway, and Heber.
There are a ridiculous number of micro-communities within the Park City area. Call now and I can go over the nuances because they vary greatly in price and quality. There are a variety of reasons for this due to the different draws to the area from skiing or private gated golf or equestrian communities.
The differences between Park City, Canyons, and Deer Valley
When people hear of Park City they think it is all one area, but there are 3 major ski resort base areas.
Park City resort and Canyons are on the EPIC pass and Deer Valley is on the IKON pass.
Park City is a Ski and Snowboard Mountain with close proximity to Main Street where all of the shops and dining are. There is also a bustling base area with summer activities and dining.
Canyons Village is a ski and snowboard resort. It is also the closest base area to the airport and the fasting growing base area. Some new high-end condos and townhomes are quickly making this new development the place to be. There is a village there with multiple dining options and summer activities. It is further to Main Street, but with free public transportation, it isn’t a problem to get downtown in 10-15 minutes.
Deer Valley is a high-end ski-only resort that prides itself on being a luxury experience. It is the furthest from the airport, but still closer than most ski areas in other places. If you want more of an exclusive luxurious experience and you have high-end taste, this may be your place.
Getting to Park City
As one of the easiest ski areas to get to from an international airport it is usually a breeze. From the SLC airport to Canyons Village, it is 37 min door to door all on major roads. Park City Resort Base Area takes 42 minutes, and Deer Valley is a little further at 45 minutes. Of course, this can change with the weather and during busy times.
How are the roads?
There is one mountain pass you must cross on the way from the airport to Park City called Parleys Summit on I-80. It is the highest Pass in Utah on I-80 at 7,120 feet. Luckily with the Great Salt Lake close by, the state dumps a generous amount of salt on the roads that make our cars rust out from the bottom up. This keeps the roads nice and ice-free even at very cold temps. If we are having a winter storm, then even with the robust snow-plowing and de-icing army that Utah employs, sometimes snow can stick and chains may be required. This only usually lasts a matter of hours though.
Four Seasons of Park City
People enjoy every season here in Park City. Winter is the busiest season with world-class snow and ski resorts. Spring is less busy for skiing with warmer weather and easy trips into the desert for visiting some of our country's best national parks like Arches, Canyon Lands, and Zion. Summer is full of golfing and mountain biking. Moderate temps bring snowbirds escaping the Florida and Arizona temps into the cool high-altitude forests. Fall has perfect temps and incredible colors as the aspens get ready for winter. Then we do it all over again!
