Canyons Village Condos for Sale
Canyons Village is the northern part of PCMR or Park City Mountain Resort. It offers convenient ski access, many options in price and location within Canyons Village, and easy accessibility from the airport and into Park City's Main Street. Canyons ski area joined with Park City when Vail Resorts bought it in 2014. This made Park City Mountain Resort the largest ski area in North America. The Park City downtown area is already about as dense as it can get, but the Canyons is still developing at a fast pace and is the new hot spot to buy a ski condominium. It is the best bang for the buck and the best value you will get out of a ski condo in the greater park city area. Values have tripled in the last ten years and they are still building out this new base area. So far the developments include many different styles and price points for ski condos. Ski-in Ski-out demands the highest price point down to a short walk to skiing for a fraction of that price.
Ski condo developments include Apex, Accent, Blackstone Residences, Fairway Springs, Frostwood Villas, Grand Summit, Hyatt Centric, Juniper Landing, Lift Condominiums, Pendry Residences, Red Pine Condominiums Silverado, Sundial Lodge, The Colony, The Ridge Townhomes, Timberwolf Lodge, Vintage on the Strand, Waldorf Astoria, Westgate Condos, White Pine Canyons, Viridian, and the Yotel Pad.
The Grand Summit is a Fractional Ownership Resort and there are a few timeshare resorts as well including, The Hilton Sunrise Lodge, Club Wyndham Frostwood, and The Lodge at Westgate.
Canyons Village Ski Access
Many of these resorts have great ski access. Some you can ski into and ski out of, some you can ski into but must walk a little, and some you can ski out of and must walk a short way back. For the most part, the closer and easier it is to get to skiing, the higher the price points. The Grand Summit, probably has some of the best ski access, but Pendry, Apex, Vintage on the Strand, Sundial, Hyatt Centric, The Lodge at Westgate, Silverado, and Yotel Pad are centered around the resort Base, with many more just a little further.
Canyons Village Price and Location
Price reflects location and luxury. The Apex is at the top of development and commands the highest prices. Followed by Lift, Vintage on the Strand, Hyatt Centric, and the very popular new Pendry, a Montage Resort. This is where you get Deer Valley quality luxury at a better price point, and you can ski AND snowboard at this resort.
All the main base area resorts offer great ski access. a few more offerings in the mid-range price point like The Lodge at Westgate and Sundial Lodge.
If you are ok with walking a few minutes or taking the free Canyons Connect Shuttle, there are many more options. You can ski in or out of Yotel Pad, Silverado, Red Pine, Navajo Trail, Hidden Creek, Timberwolf Lodge, and a few Others.
Frostwood Blvd is another area that has ski access via a lower gondola. Waldorf Astoria is found down here with a few other developments like Juniper Landing, Fairway Springs, The Club Wyndham, and a couple of new developments The Viridian and Accent.
Accessibility and Location
The Canyons is the easiest major ski resort to get to from the Salt Lake City International Airport. This is a major Delta hub, and many flights are direct. Upon leaving the airport, you take a freeway and then a four-lane road all the way to the base area thirty-five minutes away. You can be skiing in just over an hour from when you land, depending on how long it takes you to gear up.
Canyons Village Connect and Park City Bus System
There is a free shuttle service for everyone staying in the Canyons Village to help people get from their resort to the Canyons Village base area. There is also a free bus system that runs early to late in Park City to keep you from having to drive. Check https://www.parkcity.org/departments/transit-bus/routes-schedules for the current schedule. Buses are clean and underused most of the time. Many of the buses even allow bringing mountain bikes on! This means you can do downhill mountain bike rides shuttled by the free bus during the summer. Uber and Lift are options as well but can get pricey at certain times in the evening.
