Park City Homes for Sale
Homes in Park City offer a tranquil getaway from city life. It is a small town that has most of the amenities you would be looking for out of a big city. If Park City doesn’t have what you need. SLC is thirty-five minutes away. There are many different communities in the Park City area depending on what you are looking for. Here are the most popular ones.
Main Street or Old Town
The nice thing about living around Main St and Old Town in Park City is that you can walk easily to shops, restaurants, bars, and skiing. You are going to pay more, but there is a fun busy scene during the winter months. Summer is slower but still busy. Seasonality is a great perk of mountain resort living.
Old Town was platted over one hundred ago and lots are small. It is only 25x75 ft for a standard lot. Many homes are etched into the hillsides surrounding the main draw. This means that many of the homes have amazing views.
The most desired homes are close to the ski lift that goes directly to Main Street. If you find one and want it, grab your agent and move fast, because there are not many homes in that area
Canyons Village and Snyderville Basin
The Canyons Village is the fastest developing most up-and-coming part of the Park City greater resort area. Some home values have tripled in the last ten years. There are a wide range of homes to choose from depending on which sub-community you are looking in. The prices range from around one million for a townhouse-style home up to around forty-million dollar ski palaces up in an exclusive community called “The Colony.” All are close to skiing.
There is a plaza and shops, but not as many as Park City yet. “The Beach” and Umbrella Bar are great places to enjoy live music and drinks, soaking up some rays after a day of skiing or snowboarding. A new resort condo-hotel called Pendry just opened from Montage Resorts. This is upping the Canyons Village Apres’ game creating a higher-end option for drinks and appetizers after skiing your legs off all day.
Upper and Lower Deer Valley
Some of the most incredible homes in the area are up here. Most of the communities up here are ski-in ski-out. You will be paying top dollar, but you will be getting top-shelf homes. Deer Valley is a skiing-only luxury resort, so if you don’t have any snowboarders in your family this could be the option for you. Great skiing and the best corduroy in the area make for some great chalky uncrowded turns. They limit the number of tickets they sell in a day, however, with the IKON Pass people are saying it is more crowded than the “Good Ole Days”
Kimball Junction
There are mostly townhouses and condos in Kimball Junction. However, the convenience of having shops, stores, and bus lines within walking distance is a nice perk.
Trailside
Trailside in Park City is an awesome area. It is a family community with great views and embraces the Park City lifestyle. There is a mountain bike park just down the street. It is moderately priced for Park City and the homes are on spacious lots with great proximity to schools. Trailside Elementary is in the neighborhood and it is close to the Park City Resort and Canyons Ski Areas as well. May residents enjoy the proximity to Kimball Junction as well. This is one of my favorite neighborhoods for families in the area.
Jeremy Ranch, Pinebrook, and Summit Park
Homes in these areas are great for professionals commuting to Salt Lake City. They are priced lower per square foot than Old Town or Canyons and still offer a great balance of mountain life ambiance with great proximity to the city and international airport.
There are schools close by, and Woodward is in the neighborhood. All I have to say is I wish I had Woodward when I was a kid training for winter!
Private Golf Communities of Glenwild, Promontory, Tuhaye
Big modern homes on spacious lots. These exclusive communities offer world-class golfing with skiing within a short drive or shuttle. Many of these communities have their own ski shuttles, so you don’t have to bother with driving in snowy conditions.
Midway and Heber
Midway feels like what Park City was thirty years ago. Midway is a beautiful community nestled in the mountains on the back side of Deer Valley Ski Resort. Quiet mountain living in large new homes still within fifteen minutes of Deer Valley and thirty minutes to Park City.
You could snowmobile and side by side out your door or enjoy the cross-country ski track maintained in the winter, just at the mouth of the canyon and Wasatch State Park. You will have way too many deer in your yard and the occasional moose.
Heber is the main town Midway was a sub-community of. Houses for sale in Heber are more affordable than in Midway. The communities although close, are very different. Heber has a very small-town country town vibe, although it is getting much more popular. Midway has mostly transplanted professionals who enjoy the proximity to the mountains with a comfortable spacious farm and mountain feel.
Call today and I would be happy to go over the nuances of the neighborhoods and match what you are looking for to what will be your perfect home.
